In order to prevent the spread of particularly dangerous infectious and invasive diseases, as well as to prevent attacks by aggressive dogs on people, in 2025, the veterinary service of Almaty will update the park of special equipment. This was reported during the session of the Maslikhat of the city, at which the city budget for 2025-2027 was adopted.
In 2025, the veterinary service of the city will purchase 14 units of special equipment, including:
* 11 units of cargo transport to increase trapping teams;
* 2 refrigerators for timely selection and transportation of animal corpses in compliance with veterinary and sanitary standards;
* 1 pickup truck for veterinarians to travel to hard-to-reach places during veterinary activities with farm animals.
In 2025-2027, the staff of the service for trapping neglected pets will also be increased, which will allow for timely trapping, selection of corpses and removal of fallen domestic and farm animals. At the same time, the implementation of the OSVV program (capture - sterilization - vaccination - release) will be carried out more actively.
Recall that in December 2023, the veterinary service purchased 12 units of KIA BONGO passenger trucks, due to which the number of teams for trapping stray and neglected animals was increased. So, since January 2024, 2 brigades have been traveling daily to 8 districts, which process applications from individuals and legal entities received through social networks and the offices of the akims of the districts.
The ongoing work and the purchase of vehicles will ensure a stable epizootic situation in the city and the effective implementation of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On responsible treatment of animals".
