In 2025, an inclusive tourism project for people with disabilities will be implemented in Almaty. This was reported during the session of the Maslikhat of Almaty, which adopted the city budget for 2025-2027.
Within the framework of the project, it is planned to install five tactile models that will help people with visual impairments and other perceptual features to get a complete picture of the city's significant tourist sites. The tactile model will allow visitors to feel and explore the detailed shape and elements of the building.
The models will be placed at the following objects:
• The Ascension Cathedral is one of the main architectural attractions of Almaty, known for its magnificent domes and historical significance.
• Museum of National Instruments named after Yalasa is a cultural center dedicated to the musical heritage of Kazakhstan.
• GATOB (State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre) is an important arts center, which is famous for its magnificent performances and architecture.
• The Almaty Museum is a cultural and historical museum that demonstrates the development and history of the city.
• The Academy of Sciences is one of the leading scientific institutions in the country, which plays an important role in research activities.
Tactile models are developed taking into account the unique architectural features of each object, so that visitors can not only physically feel the shape of the buildings, but also understand their cultural and historical significance. The models will use high-quality materials and technologies that will ensure durability and ease of use, as well as allow you to get a complete and realistic perception of objects.
The project of installing tactile models is aimed at the development of inclusive tourism, which contributes to the creation of equal conditions for all categories of tourists and increases the accessibility of cultural and historical attractions of the city.
