In Almaty, the amount of funding for the education sector will increase by 16% by 2025. This was announced by Mayor of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev during the session of the city maslikhat, at which the city budget for 2025-2027 was approved.
"In 2024, 479.3 billion tenge was allocated to finance the education sector. In 2025, the volume of financing will increase by another 16% to 555.4 billion tenge," the head of the megalopolis noted.
According to him, in order to reduce the shortage of student places, 9 schools for 11.8 thousand places will be introduced in 2024. In 2025, the construction of 15 more schools for 27.3 thousand places will be completed within the framework of the National project "Comfortable School".
In accordance with the support of the Head of State, starting in 2025, the creation of the first Science Museum for Children in the CIS in cooperation with Science Museum Singapore will begin in Almaty on the basis of the former Almaly Shopping Center. It is planned to allocate 12.2 billion tenge from the city budget for these purposes. It should be noted that Science Museum Singapore is the first museum in the world that aims to study the role of the creative process in science and art and its impact on the consciousness of society.
Recall that in general, active work is being carried out in Almaty to achieve a manageable level of shortage of student places through the construction of new schools and extensions at the expense of the local budget. Taking into account the commissioning of comfortable schools in 2025, the shortage of student places will decrease to a manageable level - 3-4 thousand places.
