A meeting of maslikhat deputies with the leaders of student self-government was held in Astana. Chairman of the standing committee of the Maslikhat of the city on law and order and public relations Azamat Aitkhozhin told the audience about the fight against drug crimes, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
According to the deputy, more and more young people are getting involved in drug trafficking.
"Ignorance and lack of knowledge about the law do not exempt from responsibility. You have probably heard about cases when students of our schools were involved in drug trafficking and received long sentences for it — up to 10 years in prison," he addressed the youth.
According to him, it is necessary to increase the effectiveness of the fight against drug trafficking and change prevention methods.
"We must convey to young people that drug use leads to personal degradation and serious health problems. Drug addiction not only threatens human health, but also poses a danger to others, as it can lead to immoral and aggressive behavior," he said.
In conclusion, Azamat Aitkhozhin advised young people to spend their leisure time usefully, develop, and gain new knowledge.
"In each district you can find sports grounds and places for art classes. Your task is to take advantage of all these advantages," he concluded.
