Residents of the most remote village of Karatal district, Kopbirlik village, have access to high–quality drinking water. Although the village has a centralized water supply system, in recent years residents have had to drink salt water. Akim of the region Beibit Isabayev got acquainted with the results of the measures taken to solve the problematic issue today, visiting Karatal district as part of a working trip, the press service of the akim of the region Zhetisu reports.
Recall that in 2010, the reconstruction of the water supply system was carried out in the village, including the construction of new networks, a well with a depth of more than 100 meters was also dug, and a desalination plant was installed. Despite the measures taken in recent years, the salinity level of water has increased from 5.9 to 8 grams per liter, which caused concern to the population.
In this regard, on behalf of the akim of the region, Beibit Isabayev, funds were allocated from the budget, and the necessary measures were taken to solve the problem. In particular, 2 km of networks were reconstructed, valves were replaced, a new water tower was installed and an upgraded higher-capacity desalination plant was installed, which is capable of desalinating water even if the salinity level reaches 12 grams per liter.
As part of a working trip to the village of Kopbirlik, the governor of the region personally inspected the water quality, and also met with local residents.
- Drinking water is the key to health, so its quality plays the most important role. The quality of drinking water in our village has been poor for the last few years. Thanks to your support, this year this long-standing problem has been solved. The population is pretty. I think that our village will continue to receive the necessary attention," said a resident of the village of Zamzagul Nesipbaeva.
By the way, the number of households in Kopbirlik village is 179, of which 168 subscribers are connected to the central water supply. The total population of the village exceeds 900 people.
