Development of anti-discrimination legislation discussed in Kazakhstan

Today, a regular meeting of the interdepartmental working group on anti-discrimination legislation was held under the chairmanship of Vice-Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aizada Kurmanova. The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, civil society and human rights organizations.
The main topic of the agenda was the discussion of conceptual approaches to the development of anti-discrimination legislation in the framework of fulfilling international obligations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including the International Convention on the Elimination of All Types of Racial Discrimination.
The members of the working group presented the positions of government agencies for further recommendations at the final meeting to be held this year.
