Vice Minister of Agriculture Yermek Kenzhehanuly met with Agriculture Advisor on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Issues for the CIS countries Amos Marie-Agnes.
In 10 months of 2024, the trade turnover of agricultural products between Kazakhstan and France increased by almost 9.3% and amounted to $ 83.1 million. Exports from Kazakhstan to France increased almost 7 times over the same period due to the supply of rapeseed seeds.
A number of topical issues were discussed at the meeting.
"We are currently working on amendments and additions to the current legislation in the field of livestock breeding. Kazakhstan is interested in the experience of France in the implementation of state control in this area, as well as the regulation of the activities of French breed associations," said Ermek Kenzhehanuly.
The parties also discussed the issue of supporting national breeders, attracting foreign breeders to invest in seed production in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and agreed on further cooperation.
