Astana hosted the Kazakhstan Round Table on Global Investments KGIR-2024, one of the most significant annual events bringing together government agencies and the international investment community to discuss topical issues and form promising investment strategies.
The round table was chaired by Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov. It is attended by the first heads of government agencies, akims of regions and cities, heads of multinational corporations, large investors, experts, as well as representatives of government agencies and business communities.
The main topic of the current event was the discussion of global investment trends and a vision of the future of global markets.
Akim of the West Kazakhstan region Nariman Turegaliyev noted that attracting investments and creating comfortable business conditions remain key priorities outlined by the Head of State.
He stressed that today's round table provides a unique opportunity to interact with potential investors and demonstrate the investment potential of the regions.
"In the West Kazakhstan region, we have created all the necessary conditions for investors: a favorable climate, developed infrastructure and powerful industrial and logistical potential. High-tech industries have been opened in the region, which indicates the real economic potential and stability for further growth," Nariman Turegaliyev said.
According to him, over the past three years, the volume of investments in fixed assets of the region amounted to 1.6 trillion tenge, including 645.6 billion tenge by the end of 2023, which is 16.4% higher than previous indicators.
A significant event on the sidelines of KGIR-2024 was the signing of a memorandum between the akimat of the West Kazakhstan Region and the South Korean company Hyundai Solar KZ 777. The company plans to invest 81.4 billion tenge in the implementation of four projects, which will create 120 new jobs. Among the planned projects is the construction of a waste recycling and incineration complex, a greenhouse complex, as well as a power generation station from solar panels. The implementation period of these initiatives is scheduled for 2024-2026.
