350 residents of Karkaraly district competed in skating and skiing, tubing and tug-of-war competitions.
The “Winter Holiday” was attended by schoolchildren, students of the Youth Sports School and adult athletes from the villages of Karkaraly, as well as Nurken, Appaz, Taldy (Kasym), Saryobaly, Bakty, Zhanatogan, Tomar, Akzhol, Koktas, Akbai-Kyzylbay, Akterek and Borlybulak.
In each competition, participants were divided into eight age categories - from the youngest to the oldest. In addition, women's and men's teams were evaluated separately. The tubing competition was held in the “Fun Start” format - team members had to skate as many times as possible within a certain time.
– These competitions are held annually. Participants come from all over the district. Every year, students take part in this winter holiday with pleasure. This year, we prepared useful gifts for the winners: lamps, thermoses, kettles. The champions were also awarded medals and cups, - said Erbol Iksanov, head of the Karkaraly district department of physical education and sports.
The winners were selected in each age category. Participants received prizes in both team and individual competitions.
