A family sports competition called "Father, Mother and Me" was held at school-lyceum No. 73 in Astana, the official website of the capital's akimat reported.
The traditional sports competition held annually was organized between 3rd grade students of the school and their parents. More than 100 schoolchildren participated in the competition.
"The competition is traditionally held at our school every year. We consider the event, which is organized to promote our national values and a healthy lifestyle, to be an excellent example of working in tripartite solidarity between students, teachers, and parents. In general, this is a competition held for grades 3-5. One of the interesting things about this competition is that while mothers tried their best, fathers baked baursak. All participants enjoyed hot baursak cooked on the stove and tea boiled in a samovar. "The frequent organization of such events has a positive effect on working in partnership with children and parents," said Gulshat Kaltaeva, director of school-lyceum No. 73.
The participants of the competition competed in baton relay races, sled races, tug-of-war, arm wrestling, and the "Baursak-Fest" competition.
At the end of the competition, the winners were determined and awarded with letters of appreciation and a special prize.
