Today, the akim of the North Kazakhstan region, Gauez Nurmukhambetov, visited the Sergeev water reservoir and listened to reports from relevant departments on preparations for the flood season. Due to last year's severe floods, work was carried out to strengthen the embankment at the water reservoir. This year, stone and concrete laying will continue to strengthen the embankment and protect it from water erosion. In addition, dredging work is planned at the waterworks.
In the Petropavlovsk and Kyzylzhar districts, 8 protective dams were strengthened and their height was increased to 7 meters. All calculations were made taking into account the highest levels of severe floods last year. The reconstruction of the first lifting pumping station is being completed. In total, all necessary measures have been taken to protect settlements from floods within the framework of the implementation of an engineering plan consisting of 109 measures.
