New-type snow fences will be installed in the Karaganda region. And in one of the snow-covered sections, a decision was made to replace the fence with metal ropes.
The deputy head of the Department of Passenger Transport and Highways, Maksat Mukashev, spoke about snow accumulation prevention measures at the staff meeting.
- To prevent avalanches and ice formations, this year it is planned to install composite snow fences on sections of the Nura-Osakarovka highway with a length of 3 km, the Shakhtinsk-Sarepty highway with a length of 2 km, and the Saryarka airport access highway with a length of 400 m, - he reported.
It is planned to replace the fences with metal ropes on the Osakarovka-Molodezhnoye highway pass. This will allow the snow on the roadway to be blown away by the wind.

It is planned to complete the reconstruction of the Nura - Osakarovka, Zhartas - Dolinka, Ushtobe - Kurlys road sections. Major repairs of the Saran - Shakhtinsk highway will continue.
Design documentation has been developed for the reconstruction of a 6 km highway of regional significance from the village of Dubovka to the city of Saran, as well as 5 km of the Shakh - Zhanatalap highway. The implementation of the projects is planned for this year.
A 72 km highway of regional significance will be subject to moderate repairs.
The reconstruction of the bridge over the Nura River on the Temirtau - Tokarevka highway continues. It is necessary to accelerate the work before the flood period. Also, the bridge over the Sherubai-Nura River on the Saran - Shakhtinsk highway is being repaired. The RFP is being developed for the reconstruction of two bridges on the Karaganda-Shakhtinsk highway.
Under the special project "Aul - El Besigi" this year, internal rural roads will be put in order in 24 settlements of all seven districts of the region.
As for roads of republican significance, the improvement of the Karaganda-Balkhash road will continue. The construction of two sections with a length of 91 km on the Balkhash-Burybaytal highway has been completed, and this year the laying of the upper layer of asphalt will continue on the third section from Tasaral to Saryshagan. It is planned to completely complete the repair of the Karaganda-Karkaraly highway, 85 km of this road remains to be put in order.
In addition, the medium repair of the Karaganda-Pavlodar highway will continue.
Control of all projects is carried out jointly with the National Center for the Quality of Road Assets. It is planned to organize training at the Kazakhstan Road Research Institute to improve the skills of civil servants. Specialists who lead the housing and utilities and transport sectors will be sent to the courses.
Regional akim Yermaganbet Bolekpayev instructed to ensure timely road works. He reminded that special attention should be paid to the quality of road construction materials.
