On November 1, on the sidelines of the Kazakhstan Round Table on Global Investments (KGIR-2024), Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Sharlapayev met with the First Director General for International Affairs of Zijin Mining, Mr. Liao Jiansheng.
Zijin Mining specializes in the exploration, production, processing and trading of gold, silver, copper and other mineral resources worldwide and is the second largest multinational gold mining conglomerate in China.
As part of the projects under consideration, the company plans to build a processing plant for the production of concentrates of non-ferrous and precious metals, which will then be sent to metallurgical plants of the Republic of Kazakhstan for metal smelting.
In addition, the company intends to carry out geological exploration in new areas, which will contribute to an increase in the mineral resource base of Kazakhstan.
The parties noted mutual interest in further elaboration and development of the above-mentioned projects. In turn, the Minister assured of full readiness for joint cooperation and stressed the investment attractiveness of the Republic of Kazakhstan for foreign business communities.
