The International Investment Forum "TURKISTAN INVESTMENT and TOURISM FORUM – 2024" is being held in Turkestan. The meeting was attended by domestic and foreign investors and representatives of local executive authorities.
The plenary session of the forum continued with thematic panel sessions. At the session on the topic" China Year of tourism in Kazakhstan – 2025", First Deputy akim of Turkestan region Zulpykhar Zholdasov noted the importance of the forum and noted that Turkestan region has a high potential in the field of Tourism.
- Turkestan region is a historical and cultural center of the Great Silk Road. The cultural, historical and natural resources of the region increase the interest of tourists from abroad from year to year. Using today's forum, we place high hopes on the development of investment and tourism partnership with the people's Republic of China. Since the adoption of the "visa-free regime" by the heads of State of the two countries last year, contacts in the field of tourism have strengthened. Within the framework of the year of Tourism of Kazakhstan in China, the tourism potential of the region was presented at a number of tourist exhibitions, road shows and a number of negotiations were reached. Next year, within the framework of the year of Tourism of China in Kazakhstan, we are ready to implement many joint projects in the field of Tourism and aviation. We are ready to open flights in new tourist destinations, implement joint tourist marches, and support investors in the field of Tourism and aviation. Each project is important for us and I hope that together with you we will achieve new initiatives, " Zulpykhar Sansyzbayuly said.
In the Republic, the Turkestan region has an important top tourist potential for tourists. In particular, it ranks first in terms of monuments of national significance, first in terms of the number of objects of medical and health tourism. It occupies the third place in the country in terms of the volume of attracted investments in the tourism sector. There are three UNESCO facilities in the region.
In order to develop the tourism sector, over the past 5 years, 800 million tenge has been allocated to the region. dollar investment attracted. It is planned to increase the number of foreign tourists from year to year through the launch of new tourist projects. For this purpose, the project "craft town" with an area of 2.5 hectares is planned to be launched in Turkestan next year in order to promote national crafts and provide tourists with unique souvenirs.
The akimat of the region provides support for the development of Tourism and the improvement of tourist infrastructure. Special attention is also paid to the international transport logistics of the region. The new International Airport in the region provides its services. The current airport is a new facility with ICAO Category 1, according to world standards.
Work is underway to expand the geography of flights of the International Airport for foreign tourists arriving in the region. At the moment, negotiations have also been held on the opening of tourist charter flights.
The session was attended by the director of the International Airport "Dalaman Airport" Hamdi Guvench, head of the Tourism Department of the Turkestan region Nurdaulet Medeuov, director of the project Support Department of the National Company "Kazakh tourism" Tursun Alisher, Hubei miaoshang Group Industrial Co Ltd. chairman Wu Jianmiao, Wuhan Xinyatu international Travel Agency Co. Ltd. Wang Xia, the CEO, made a report and made his suggestions. At the meeting, the speakers expressed their readiness to work together to increase the tourist potential of the region, create modern infrastructure and strengthen tourist relations between the two countries.
