In the international competition among students" One Belt, One Road " the team of Astana IT University took the first place
From October 26 to November 2, 2024, the team of Astana IT University took the first place in the International Student Competition "One Belt, One Road", aimed at the development of scientific and technological, industrial innovations, entrepreneurship, held in Siyan, China.
Team members undergraduates Nurlan Abzalbekov and college student Kuandyk Nuraim competed in the project "energy Drones AI", a web platform for testing solar panels using BPLA and artificial intelligence. The main goal of the project is to provide an effective solution for detecting defects in solar panels. Students offered to supplement the work of monitoring systems, which are currently unable to detect all defects, with images taken by drones and a web platform based on AI and CV. At the same time, Energy Drones using advanced neural networks (KAN, CNN, ResNet-8) with an accuracy of 95% increase the accuracy of AI verification.
The project manager is Zarina Kutpanova, senior lecturer at Astana IT University, researcher at the Smart City research and Innovation Center. In total, 579 projects from 14 countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, UAE, Japan, New Zealand, Great Britain, India, Russia and China) took part in the competition.
Within the framework of the competition, exhibitions and presentations of technological achievements were held.
