Kazakhstan and France signed memorandum on strengthening cooperation in water supply sector

Today, within the framework of the 13th meeting of the Kazakh-French Business Council in Paris, the Ministry of Industry and construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan and SUEZ International, the world leader in sustainable water supply and sewerage management, signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly resolve issues of modernization of water supply and sanitation infrastructure in Kazakhstan.
The memorandum establishes a strategic partnership aimed at introducing advanced technologies and practices in water supply management to improve the infrastructure of the main cities of Kazakhstan. The cooperation begins with a pilot project, the location of which is determined jointly by the Ministry and SUEZ. As part of this project, SUEZ uses its many years of experience in the design, construction and operation of infrastructure to implement sustainable solutions adapted to the unique needs of Kazakhstan.
The partnership explores various funding models and focuses on skills development and education programs for local professionals. SUEZ's participation in this agreement demonstrates the commitment of both parties to developing innovations in the field of water supply and sewerage that benefit local communities and support Kazakhstan's long-term sustainable development goals.
The memorandum was signed in Paris by Timothy Carjill, senior vice president for international development of SUEZ, and Kanat Sharlapayev, minister, who stressed the international nature of cooperation aimed at providing the people of Kazakhstan with safe and stable water and sanitation systems.
