At the meeting of the government's operational headquarters for the harvesting campaign, the progress of acceptance and export of new grain products in elevators was considered.
Harvesting of cereals and legumes is completed by 99.8%. The average yield is 16 c/ha, 26.6 million tons of grain were threshed. The harvesting of oilseeds continues, 2.4 million hectares have already been harvested, which is equivalent to 83.1% of the harvesting area. The total yield of oilseeds was 2.7 million tons, with an average yield of 11 c/ha.
In September–October of this year, 2.2 million tons of new grain were transported by rail, which is 42% more than in the two months of last year. 1.8 million tons have already been exported (+48% for two months of 2023).
Transportation through Russia takes place without restrictions. The export of Kazakh grain to the Russian Federation for two months amounted to 43 thousand tons, transit through the Russian Federation-104 thousand tons. Active grain shipments in the direction of Iran through the port of Aktau in September – October amounted to 249 thousand tons. Transportation of new products to the traditional markets of Central Asia increased by 36% compared to last year: it has already reached 1.036 million tons. In addition, the Food Corporation, as the operator of the country's grain market, helps farmers transport grain for export under its own brand "umbrella" by consolidating grain shipments from farmers.
At the meeting of the operational headquarters, complaints of individual farmers about the inability to hand over grain to elevators were also considered. The total storage capacity of grain in the Republic is 30 million tons, licensed elevators are loaded by 42%, the volume of free space is 7.6 million tons. Thus, there are opportunities for continuous adoption of a new crop in the main grain regions of the country. The deputy prime minister instructed the Ministry of Agriculture and akims of Kostanay, Akmola, North Kazakhstan and Pavlodar regions to convey this information to the farmers, indicating specific persons for prompt notification of all emerging issues.
"Kazakhstan is one of the top ten world grain exporters. We have collected almost the entire crop, now we need to export it and help the farmers buy grain with a guarantee," Serik Zhumangarin summed up the meeting.
