AKIM OF TURKESTAN REGION MET WITH BRITISH AMBASSADOR TO KAZAKHSTAN KATIE LEACH

Today, British Ambassador to Kazakhstan Katie Leach and head of the mission of the International Organization for Migration Serhan Aktoprak arrived in Turkestan. Akim of the region Darkhan Satybaldy met with the guests of the region and discussed a number of issues in detail.
– I am glad to see you in Turkestan! Welcome to our sacred region! The residents of our region are really very hardworking. No matter where they go, the group will break up. As you know, the Turkestan region is densely populated. Of these, more than 80 percent live in the village. This is the highest indicator among the regions of the country, and our region is the leader in the field of Agriculture. Both economic and social indicators and tourism potential of the region are improving. The center, which is being opened today, has a great contribution to reducing unemployment. Kazakhstan is committed to improving, protecting the rights and well-being of migrant workers, providing them with the knowledge and resources necessary for a safer and more productive migration practice. I hope that qualified employees of the Center for labor mobility will act as a centralized hub, providing vital information to migrants, – said Darkhan Satybaldy.
The IOM provides capacity building assistance to the Centre for labor mobility with financial support from the UK government. Speaking about this, British Ambassador to Kazakhstan Katie highly appreciated the potential of the Turkestan region. This center provides comprehensive assistance to the population wishing to work in the UK.
And the head of the IOM mission in Kazakhstan, coordinator for Central Asia Serhan Aktoprak noted the importance of such a center in preparation for Migration. The worker noted that migrants quickly adapt to the new environment and receive preliminary information.
It should be noted that the guests will take part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the opening of the "Center for preliminary training", which is aimed at further sending local citizens to work abroad. They will also get acquainted with the activities of the center and exchange views with citizens who intend to work abroad. The center, which will be opened on the basis of the "Center for labor mobility" in Turkestan, will provide advisory support to Kazakhstani migrant workers. After the press conference, which will be held in the Center for labor mobility within the framework of the Project" Safe Migration of seasonal workers from Central Asia to the UK", he will visit the branch of the Academy of Public Administration under the president of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Turkestan region. There he gets acquainted with the process of training trainers and participates in the first session of trainers. Then he will visit the mausoleum of K. A. Yasawi and tourist attractions in the city.
