Akim of Karaganda region Ermaganbet Bulekpayev instructed to open centers of best practices in all polyclinics in the region, as well as to involve all schools in the Salauatty Mektep project.
The quality of primary health care is improving in the region, and best practice centers play an important role in this. Five new medical institutions are already operating in the region in Karaganda, Temirtau and Balkhash, and there are plans to open a similar center in Osakarovka.
At a staff meeting in the akimat of the region, the head of the health department, Bibigul Tulegenova, spoke about the main areas of work of the best practices centers:
— 37 medical organizations provide primary medical care in the region. This has reduced the burden on polyclinics and provided step-by-step access to services. The Best Practice centers, which began opening last year, also help develop primary health care. The principles of their work have already been partially implemented in 28 clinics. The main focus is on the quality of medical, psychological and social services on a family basis.
There are 324 multidisciplinary teams in the best practices centers, which include family doctors, social workers, psychologists, midwives and nurses. Convenient office projects have been created: thanks to the program "The first 5 minutes through the eyes of the patient", the waiting time for services has been reduced by 80-90%. Residents can leave their wishes and complaints in the public reception "Halyk kenesi".
On September 1, the Salauatty Mektep project, which covers four schools, was launched on the basis of the best practices centers at polyclinics No. 1 and 3 in Karaganda. The main task is to increase the level of health literacy among students and their parents, as well as to prevent teenage pregnancy.
Akim of Karaganda region Ermaganbet Bulekpayev stressed the importance of involving all schools in the Salauatty Mektep project.
— The introduction of best practices centers has already had a positive effect on the availability of medical care and public awareness of services. It is necessary to open such centers in all polyclinics by the end of next year," the head of the region said, "in order to promote the support of doctors and patients, as well as improve the quality of medical services.
