On the eve of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to France, the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva held a meeting with the President-Director of the Louvre Museum Laurence de Car. The meeting was devoted to cultural exchange and promising projects between Kazakhstan and France.
The parties discussed the possibility of exchanging experience between the museums of Kazakhstan and the Louvre through joint seminars and conferences. Cooperation can cover not only the exhibition, but also the scientific and research field, including archaeological research, publication of scientific materials and exchange of experience in the areas of museum activities.
"We are interested in cooperation in terms of joint scientific work on the study of the cultural heritage of Kazakhstan. We plan to open a restoration center at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, so we would like to receive the support of the Louvre Museum in the scientific field, training, and organizing exhibitions," Aida Balayeva said.
The Minister stressed that the organization of master classes and internships for Kazakhstani specialists will be an important step for the exchange of professional knowledge and improvement of museum business in Kazakhstan.
"We are open to cooperation, including in the direction of joint organization of exhibitions, as this is the international policy of the Louvre Museum," Laurence de Car said at the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed confidence that joint projects and cultural exchange will strengthen bilateral relations and deepen mutual understanding between the peoples of Kazakhstan and France.
