Aida Balayeva met with UNESCO Deputy Director General for Cultural Affairs Ernesto Ottone

On the eve of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to France, the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva visited the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, where she held a meeting with the Deputy Director General of the Organization for Cultural Affairs Ernesto Ottone.
According to A.Balayeva, joint projects with UNESCO are a priority for the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"We could successfully cooperate in terms of translations and joint publication of books for further popularization of the Kazakh cultural heritage. I will make every effort to ensure that UNESCO projects, including our joint ones, are successfully implemented," A.Balayeva noted.
The parties also discussed key areas of cultural cooperation between Kazakhstan and UNESCO, in particular, on the protection of World cultural heritage monuments, the study and popularization of intangible cultural heritage, and the development of creative industries.
"The meeting turned out to be very fruitful to discuss various projects that we are conducting with Kazakhstan in terms of World Heritage, preservation of intangible heritage, but also talked about creative industries. There is no doubt that joint work has been carried out intensively in recent years, especially great progress is visible on the ground in the work on UNESCO and Kazakhstan projects," Ernesto Ottone said.
At the end of the meeting, Aida Balayeva thanked E. Ottone for their fruitful joint work in promoting Kazakh culture on a global scale and building a constructive dialogue between UNESCO member states.
