The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan continues work on gasification of the country. On March 15, 2024, at a meeting of the National Kurultai, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the Government to provide gas to more than 300 thousand people by the end of the year and modernize 1,700 km of gas pipelines.
In order to fulfill the instructions of the Head of State, the Government decided to allocate additional funds in the amount of 105 billion tenge to local executive bodies for the implementation of 145 gas supply projects from the funds of the Samruk Kazyna JSC Fund.
The country's gasification level is planned to reach 61.8% by the end of 2024, which will provide gas to more than 369.0 thousand people or 140 settlements. (as of January 1, 2024, the level reached 60% or 12 million people out of 20 million people have access to gas supply).
The plan for 2025 is to achieve a gasification level of 62.1% or provide access to gas to more than 55 thousand people or 21 settlements.
