Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov took part in the opening ceremony of the VII China International Import Exhibition - China International Import Expo in Shanghai. The purpose of the annual multisectoral event is to strengthen economic integration at the international level. Participation in the exhibition creates new opportunities for expanding trade and economic ties with foreign partners and bringing national products to international markets.
The opening ceremony of the international exhibition was also attended by Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang, Prime Ministers of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim, Uzbekistan - Abdullah Aripov, Mongolia – Luvsannamsrain Oyun–Erdene, Serbia - Milos Vucevic.
According to the results of last year, Kazakhstan accounted for more than half of China's trade turnover with Central Asian countries.
In his speech, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov noted the importance of strengthening cooperation between states in the development of barrier-free trade, e-commerce, transport and logistics, and the introduction of advanced AI technologies.
Strengthening cooperation in the creation of the Silk Road E-Commerce pilot zone is promising. Kazakh pavilions are already successfully operating on the largest trading platforms Alibaba and JD. com, work is underway to open a pavilion at the Douyin site, build bonded warehouses and a comprehensive warehouse infrastructure in Kazakhstan to simplify logistics through digital trading channels. Kazakhstan covers more than 80% of land transportation from China to Europe. Major infrastructure projects such as the Western Europe– Western China international transit corridor, the logistics center in the port of Lianyungang, the cargo terminal in the dry port of Xi'an, the third railway checkpoint on the border with China, etc., are being implemented, aimed at improving the system of transcontinental economic corridors, increasing trade turnover and improving the welfare of the population of the countries.
In the field of digitalization, the Republic of Kazakhstan occupies the 24th position in the e-government development index, the 10th place in online services, as well as the 6th place in the index of maturity of public technologies according to the World Bank rating. The exchange of experience on the use of artificial intelligence can become a driving force for economic progress, Olzhas Bektenov stressed.
Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang and the heads of delegations of the participating countries of the international exhibition got acquainted with the products presented at the National Pavilion of Kazakhstan "New Era, Common Future", focused on the topic of digitalization. The country's achievements, including the development of electronic and financial services, cross-border trade, and investment attraction, were presented by Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliev, representatives of National Information Technologies JSC, Kazakh Invest, AIFC, QazTrade, Kaspi Bank. In addition, startups of Kazakhstani developers were demonstrated, such as: Squares – a service that allows you to quickly find and book a location anywhere in the world; Alaqan AI – a new solution in the field of biometric identification of a person by the pattern of palm veins; Cerebra AI – the development of a diagnostic program based on artificial intelligence to detect stroke, etc.
Online sales of domestic products have become an innovation in the commercial pavilion of Kazakhstan this year. An exhibition of goods from about 50 Kazakhstani manufacturers has been organized on an area of 260 m2 – meat, dairy, fat and oil, grain products, confectionery, juices and beverages, honey, textiles and much more. Streaming has been launched through the TikTok platform, which allows not only visitors to the stand, but also viewers around the world to get acquainted with the range of products and purchase them in real time. During the first hours of the exhibition alone, about $22 thousand worth of Kazakhstani goods were sold online. Also, the pavilion has been increased by 2 times this year, more than 80% of the exhibition participants are representatives of SMEs. More than 300 thousand Chinese professional buyers visit the international exhibition every year, which creates conditions for increasing exports to China.
