UTEBAYEV UNIVERSITY HAS STARTED THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN INDUSTRIAL AND INNOVATIVE LANDFILL
Atyrau University of Oil and Gas named after Safi Utebayev was the first among the higher educational institutions of the country to begin conducting the entire educational process at the training ground. On November 4, a solemn event dedicated to the beginning of the construction of an industrial and innovative landfill took place. The construction of this landfill is a new step in the training of specialists necessary for the oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan.
The solemn ceremony was attended by Deputy Akim of Atyrau region Murat Murziev, Akim of the city Shakir Keikin, Deputy General Director for Economics and Finance of Embamunaigas Joint Stock Company Rysty Tasmagambetova, Chairman of the Board-Rector of Utebayev University Gulzada Shakulikova and members of the Industrial Committee of the University, faculty and students.
A solemn ceremony of laying a time capsule was held at the event on laying the foundation stone of the training and production site.
"A practical training process will take place at the training ground organized by the Industrial Committee of Atyrau University of Oil and Gas and Embamunaigas JSC. It helps to improve the professional skills of students and teachers. Students of technical universities of the country will come to the landfill, which occupies four hectares, and undergo an internship," G.Shakulikova said.
Embamunaigas JSC, a partner of the university, as a communication platform for production and the academic community, supported the construction of an industrial landfill for the practical training of future specialists. To train competitive personnel using advanced technologies in the extraction and processing of high-viscosity oil in the Atyrau region, it is very important to put an industrial landfill into operation. The new innovation center contributes to increasing the scientific and production potential not only of the university, but also of the region. It is planned to cooperate with local companies, international partners, and implement joint projects.
"All production work is carried out at the landfill, from exploration of mineral resources to processing of petroleum products. On the basis of the landfill, advanced laboratories, training and production sites and pilot plants, testing sites for innovative solutions are provided," said Rysty Tasmagambetova, Deputy General Director for Economics and Finance of Embamunaigas JSC.
Within the framework of the "Concept for the Development of Higher Education in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2029", Utebayev University implements a strategically important task related to the transition to an industrial university model. In 2020, an Industrial Committee was established at the university, which connects the academic and scientific environment with business. The educational institution, continuing effective cooperation with the oil and gas complex, exports educational activities to the world market, focuses on consolidating professionals in the region and increasing intellectual capital.
