A new zoo information project of Abai University biology students
Kamil Mereke and Yana Filatov, third–year students of the specialty "6B01513 - Biology" of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai, under the guidance of Associate Professor of the Department of Biology K.I. Batyrova, have developed a unique website for the Almaty Zoo.
The project was implemented on the Wix platform and is an extensive information resource about zoo animals, divided into seven thematic sections. Each section contains detailed descriptions of the species in the zoo, which allows visitors to learn about rare and unique representatives of the fauna of the oldest zoo in Kazakhstan.
A special feature of the site is for the first time publicly available complete information about the animals of the Almaty Zoo, including rare and protected species. This project not only simplifies access to information about the biological diversity of the zoo, but also contributes to the popularization of science, nature conservation and environmental awareness among a wide audience.
The project demonstrates the high level of professionalism and initiative of students, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between educational institutions and public and environmental organizations.
