Athletes from the Abai region won medals at the International Games in Malaysia

The 10th Asia-Pacific Games among athletes with hearing Impairment have ended in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. These prestigious competitions brought together more than 1,300 participants from 24 countries. They compete in 10 sports: athletics, taekwondo, judo, freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, table tennis, badminton, chess, bowling and football. The national team of Kazakhstan is represented by 80 deaf athletes who will take part in 8 sports: athletics, tekwondo, judo, freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, badminton, chess and table tennis.
Among them, athletes from the Abai region showed outstanding results, winning prizes and glorifying the country. So, Altynbek Kaketaev became a judo champion, winning gold in the weight category up to 60 kg. Ayim Zhetpisbayeva brought Kazakhstan a silver medal in the weight up to 48 kg. In taekwondo competitions, Ayim Zhenisbekova won bronze in the category up to 57 kg.
Recall that the national team of Kazakhstan has been participating in the Asia-Pacific Games since 1996. The athletes have completed training camps in Bishkek, Issyk-Kul, Karaganda, Shymkent, Almaty and Almaty region.
