TikTok, the leading platform for watching and creating short videos, with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, launches the #Kazakhstanmugalimderi or #Uchitelyakazakhstan competition. The competition is being held for the third year in a row, and both school teachers and teachers of colleges and universities can take part in it.
The initiative has inspired many educators across the country to start sharing knowledge with the audience of the platform. The winners of the competition of previous years, including Botagoz Omarova, Igor Gnoeva, Haidar Murzakhmetov, were able to win the love of a wide audience by collecting millions of likes for their videos.
"Thanks to the competition, I learned how to find new approaches to creating educational content and share my knowledge in an exciting way. This allowed me to go beyond traditional teaching and find a way to bring complex topics to students in a more understandable and interesting way. It was especially pleasant for me to see how my students began to discuss physics, share their thoughts and even come up with new ideas for experiments," says the winner of the 2023 competition, physics teacher Haidar Murzakhmetov.
Schoolteachers and college and university professors who create educational content in TikTok or want to start creating it are invited to participate in the competition. From November 4 to December 3, 2024, participants will need to post short educational videos relevant to their subject on the platform. It is important that the duration of the videos be at least 30 seconds, the hashtag of the contest #uchitelyakazakhstan was used.
This year, the winners of the national competition will be three participants from among teachers or teachers of higher educational institutions. They will be determined based on a set of criteria, including the number of likes, the number of views, the quality of videos and compliance with the discipline taught.
The winners of the competition will receive iPhone 16 Pro smartphones, which will help them create even better video content and continue to develop in TikTok.
