The Minister of Digital Development paid a working visit to Qatar and held meetings with representatives of key companies and government agencies

As part of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the State of Qatar, the Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry held productive meetings with representatives of major Qatari companies, including Mekdam Holding and Wisdom Technology, and also met with the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Qatar Mohammed bin Ali bin Mohammed Al Mannai.
During the meeting with Mr. Al Mannai, the parties discussed prospects for strengthening cooperation in the digital sphere.
Kazakhstan presented its achievements in the field of GovTech, including the integration of more than 80 government databases, the introduction of proactive government services and successful cases such as the eGov mobile application, which is used by 4.6 million people.
The parties noted common priorities in the development of AI and its application in various sectors of the economy. Kazakhstan offered to share experiences and implement joint projects in this area.
Taking into account the growth of cyber threats, the parties agreed on the need for cooperation in data protection and national infrastructure. Kazakhstan expressed interest in studying Qatar's experience in creating reliable cybersecurity systems.
The Minister suggested that Qatar consider participating in a project to create a satellite constellation of Kazakhstan, which will allow the parties to share data for scientific and applied purposes.
Jaslan Madiyev invited Qatari partners to participate in Astana Hub projects and use the capabilities of Kazakhstan's international IT hubs established in the United States, Saudi Arabia and Singapore to support technology startups in global markets.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to establish a working group to work out specific areas of cooperation.
One of the key events of the working trip was the Minister's speech at the Doha Forum 2024, dedicated to the theme "The imperative of Innovation". In his speech, the Minister noted Kazakhstan's achievements in the field of GovTech, including the Digital Family Card project, which automates the provision of state aid to citizens in need and covers more than 3 million people. This project has gained international recognition by winning the GovTech Prize in the category "Inclusive Digital Transformation".
The Minister stressed that Kazakhstan is actively scaling up its successful initiatives and is ready to share its experience with international partners.
