The republican environmental campaign "Taza Kazakhstan" continues in the Karaganda region. As part of the "Divide! Give it up! Recycle!" more than 3 thousand schoolchildren of the region attended educational lectures and learned how to properly sort garbage.
Today, an informative interactive lesson on waste sorting was held for students of Shakarim Gymnasium No. 93 in Karaganda.
The students were told that proper sorting and recycling of waste helps to preserve natural resources. They learned a lot of new facts about plastics. For example, that a plastic bottle decomposes for about 500 years. All participants received eco-parks.
Similar lessons were held simultaneously in four other city schools. More than 200 children took part in them.
In addition, an ecological competition "Ecogeroy" was organized in Karaganda. Children from 33 schools competed for the title of leaders in various categories. There are also additional awards, such as "The most active team on Instagram".
– The main purpose of the competition is to teach children and teenagers the skills of sorting waste and involving them in the collection of waste paper and plastic bottles. The competition is divided into two directions: "Collect waste paper – save wood!" and "Recycling plastic – the planet needs air!". School teams of students from the first to the seventh grade from Karaganda participated, – said the head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management Bakhtiyar Sanbayev.
In total, the teams handed over 3573.52 kg of waste paper and 540.75 kg of plastic bottles.
All waste collected by students will be transferred for recycling. The winners will receive diplomas and valuable prizes.
The organizer of the competition is the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management of the Karaganda region, partners are the Department of Education of the city of Karaganda and LLP "Recyclables Karaganda".
