On December 10, 2024, an amazing event was held in Petropavlovsk, organized within the framework of the republican environmental program "Taza Kazakhstan" initiated by the Head of State. The city library named after G. Musrepov hosted a master class on creating New Year's crafts from environmental materials, where children and adults could learn how to create original decorations using natural resources.
The event, called "Ecoboom: DIY Crafts for the New Year", has become a real celebration of creativity and environmental awareness. The participants of the master class learned how to create New Year's deer from cones and matches, as well as make paper snowmen and other decorations using environmentally friendly materials.
The master classes not only helped children develop their creative abilities, but also became an important step in forming a careful attitude towards nature. Natural materials such as cones, twigs and paper became the basis for beautiful New Year's crafts, which not only pleased the eye, but also served as a reminder of the importance of environmental protection.
"It is important to transfer our experience and knowledge to young people, especially in the field of nature conservation. We, veterans, teach young people to appreciate what surrounds us, and we do this through such events. The exchange of experience between generations helps to preserve important traditions and forms a sense of responsibility for the future of our planet in children," Imangali Tatvaev, Deputy of the City Council of Veterans, shared.
The event brought together children from the Sunny House Foundation, including children with disabilities, as well as members of the Veterans Council and volunteers of the Youth Resource Center. The meeting became important for strengthening the connection between generations: children learned from veterans how to appreciate and preserve nature, and the older generation passed on their knowledge and experience to the younger ones.
The event also highlighted the importance of inclusion, as children with disabilities could create together with other participants, creating unusual and beautiful crafts. Professional mentors and specialists helped each participant to find their own approach to creating environmentally friendly Christmas decorations.
"For me, this is a unique opportunity to work with children who have special educational needs, but who are nevertheless full of enthusiasm and creativity. I see how they learn to interact with nature and with each other. This helps not only to develop their skills, but also to increase their self-confidence. The event teaches children important environmental principles that they can apply in their lives," said Tatiana Dell, founder of the Sunny House Public Foundation for Children and Adults with Down Syndrome.
The master class became not only a platform for creativity, but also an important lesson in environmental awareness aimed at drawing attention to environmental problems and teaching children practical steps to preserve nature.
