JSC NC Food Corporation received 287 applications from agricultural producers for the supply of grain under the direct purchase program. The total volume of applications amounted to 57.3 thousand tons in the amount of 3.8 billion tenge.
The greatest activity is noted among farmers of grain-growing regions:
North Kazakhstan region – 121 applications;
Kostanay region – 99 applications;
Akmola region – 60 applications;
Pavlodar region – 7 applications.
A total of 226 agricultural enterprises have already submitted applications for the sale of grain. Basically, farmers are ready to supply wheat of the 3rd class to the grain operator. Significantly smaller volumes are accounted for by wheat of the 4th, 5th class and barley.
Recall that on November 18, 2024, the Food Corporation announced the launch of a program for the direct purchase of grain from small agricultural enterprises. Priority support measures are intended for small and medium-sized farmers in order to ensure their guaranteed sales of products.
Within the framework of the Food Corporation program, the purchase price of wheat of the 3rd class, depending on the gluten content, ranges from 75 thousand to 90 thousand tenge. The grain operator purchases wheat of the 4th class from farmers at a price in the range from 55 to 65 thousand tenge, barley - at 50 thousand tenge per ton.
Direct purchase is carried out in stages. At the first stage, applications are accepted from farms whose sown area of wheat and barley does not exceed 500 hectares. At the second stage, they are joined by agricultural enterprises whose sown area of wheat and barley is 1,000 hectares or more.
At the same time, the total volume of grain purchased from one agricultural enterprise ranges from 300 to 700 tons. Such a restriction is introduced in order to meet the needs for state support for as many farms as possible.
It was initially planned to allocate 10 billion tenge for the direct purchase of grain. The food corporation increased the financing of the program by 3 billion tenge from its own reserve. As a result, the total budget of the program will amount to 13 billion tenge, which will allow to purchase more than 200 thousand tons of grain from agricultural producers.
