The international conference "Education of children and youth: state, society and family in unity of action" was held in Astana.
The platform brought together scientists, experts, representatives of the parent community of the regions, teachers, deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as representatives of central and local executive bodies, non-governmental and international organizations.
The conference addressed topical issues related to promoting the idea of responsible parenthood, ensuring the digital safety of children, and strengthening family values.
The address of the Chairman of the National Commission on Women's Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva to the participants of the international conference was read out at the event.
"In his speeches, the Head of State has repeatedly noted the joint responsibility of the state and parents for the education and upbringing of children, the importance of conscious parenthood. In this regard, there is now a need to form a unified system within which government agencies, society and families would cooperate closely and effectively. The National Commission on Women's Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President is systematically working to promote the idea of responsible parenthood," Aida Balayeva said in her address.
According to her, in order to create conditions for expanding the educational opportunities of parents, it is necessary to strengthen the responsibility of employers for violating labor laws:
"In 2025, the Ministry of Culture and Information, together with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), plans to implement the Family-Friendly Workplace project. This means creating conditions in companies to support family and parenthood. A program will be launched to train employers on the benefits of implementing such practices, as well as studying and evaluating Kazakhstan's experience in this area. Also, in cooperation with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kazakhstan Institute of Child Welfare, the implementation of the Parents Academy project will be launched in 2025.
The conference participants stressed the importance of parental attention and communication skills with children to prevent Internet addiction and suicidal behavior.
As a result of the event, a resolution was adopted, on the basis of which recommendations will be developed to further promote the idea of responsible parenthood.
