The 7th annual China International Import Expo (CIIE) is being held in China under the slogan "A New Era, a common Future", which has already become an important platform for Kazakhstani companies. This year, Kazakhstan is represented at the exhibition in two pavilions: commercial and national. The national stand of Kazakhstan demonstrates achievements in the field of digitalization and infrastructure aimed at developing cross-border trade, attracting investment and cooperation within the framework of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative.
Kazakhstani companies are actively attracting the attention of Chinese buyers and business partners. On the first day of CIIE, export contracts totaling $ 50 million were signed, which underlines the high interest in Kazakhstani goods and opens up new opportunities for their supply to the Chinese market.
50 manufacturers of agro-industrial and textile products are represented at the commercial stand of Kazakhstan. The exhibition is attended by companies that have already received permission to export to China. In total, 550 Kazakhstani food producers who have the right to supply to China are registered in the CIFER Single Window system.
Confectionery and flour milling products of Kazakhstan occupy a special place in the world's largest confectionery market in China, estimated at $ 80 billion. Currently, 28 Kazakhstani companies have the opportunity to export confectionery products to China, and a significant part of them are sold through e-commerce channels.
The beverage sector is represented by four companies producing juices, wine and spirits. Kazakhstan is also actively developing the supply of dairy products, which became possible thanks to the protocol on veterinary and sanitary requirements for dairy products signed in 2019. Today, 18 Kazakhstani companies export dairy products to China, including ice cream from Ice-Master LLP and Gormolzavod LLP.
Camel milk powder, which is in demand among Chinese consumers focused on healthy nutrition, is also presented at the exhibition. Five Kazakhstani companies have the right to supply this product to China, and three of them, including King Milk, are represented at the stand.
Agricultural products of Kazakhstan, including beef, mutton and horse meat, are also in demand in the Chinese market. In 2023, China imported Kazakh meat worth more than 2.6 billion dollars. Additionally, compound feeds and bran from Kazakhstan are actively supplied to China: the production capacity of the country's feed mills is more than 1.9 million tons per year, and 115 Kazakhstani companies are registered as suppliers of compound feeds and bran.
Fat-and-oil products from Kazakhstan are of considerable interest. In the first eight months of 2024, exports of fat and oil products from Kazakhstan to China reached 360 thousand tons worth over $ 307 million, which is 27% higher than last year. In the next three years, the volume of exports of fat and oil products to China is estimated at $ 300 million.
The commercial stand of Kazakhstan at the CIIE 2024 exhibition was organized by JSC "Center for Trade Policy Development "QazTrade" with the support of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
