On the eve of the New Year holidays, the republican campaign "Fire Safety Month" has started in Astana. Employees of the capital's emergency department conducted propaganda work in the shopping center and reminded about safety during the holidays, the official website of the city akimat reports.
The campaign is aimed at raising awareness of citizens about compliance with fire safety rules, especially in crowded places.
According to representatives of the Department of Emergency Situations, the campaign will last until December 31 and includes a set of preventive measures. Among the main tasks are holding informational meetings, distributing memos with QR codes for access to a specialized Telegram channel, where news and tips on fire safety are published daily.
At the moment, about 20 shopping centers of the capital are involved. Here, the staff of the Emergency Department actively inform visitors, explain safety standards and regulations, and also carry out inspections of fire protection systems.
"Special attention is paid to the technical condition of the facilities: automatic fire alarm systems, fire extinguishing and smoke removal. Evacuation routes are also being checked to exclude cases of their blocking by trade "islands". The period for elimination of violations is two months, but in exceptional cases this period may be extended. It is important to note that in most cases, the administrations of shopping centers promptly respond to our comments," said Yevgeny Gutyar, Deputy Head of the Department of State Fire Control of the Astana Emergency Department.
As the holidays approach, the activity of pyrotechnics sellers is growing. The sale of fireworks and firecrackers is under the control of law enforcement agencies. From December 25 to December 31, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, together with the police, will conduct raids to exclude the illegal sale of products, including non-certified products.
"The sale of pyrotechnic products should be carried out exclusively at authorized points. It is important for buyers to pay attention to the availability of certificates of conformity in order to avoid danger," said Evgeny Gutyar.
