Every day, municipal services collect and export thousands of cubic meters of snow from the capital by hundreds of heavy trucks. This work is carried out around the clock in shifts, the official website of the Mayor's Office of Astana reports.
During the day shift on December 11, more than 2.7 thousand road workers and over a thousand units of special equipment are engaged in snow removal work.
Over the past night from December 10-11, 7 thousand cubic meters of snow were collected and transported from the capital by 545 flights.
In total, about 961 thousand cubic meters of snow have been exported from the city by 75,703 flights since the beginning of the winter period.
According to the rules, first of all, areas with very heavy traffic are cleared in the city so that there is no congestion on the roads. Also, areas with medium intensity are being removed from snow — squares, forecourts, sidewalks, access roads to social facilities, etc.
The priority is cleaning on central streets, on passenger transport routes, bus stops and sidewalks.
There are several equipped snow ranges in the capital. They are equipped with a system for reading license plates of dump trucks, video surveillance cameras are installed here, lighting is connected.
We ask residents and guests of the capital to be careful on the roads, observe safety rules, and refrain from long-distance trips in case of a storm warning.
