Thanks to this, new business development opportunities will appear, the volume of freight traffic will increase and transit attractiveness in general will increase.
Akim of Karaganda region Ermaganbet Bulekpayev identified logistics as one of the main points of economic growth in the region. At a briefing at the Central Communications Service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, he spoke about plans and prospects for the development of logistics infrastructure, which will become an important driver of economic progress in the region and the country.
Teez marketplace started operating in Karaganda in September. The opening of the warehouse terminal will accelerate the development of e-commerce in the region. The capacity of the site is 27 million orders per year. This stimulates the business activity of small and medium-sized enterprises.
One of the important steps in the development of international logistics in Karaganda will be the modernization of the local airport. Over time, the air harbor will turn into a full-fledged cargo terminal with a capacity of 50,000 tons of cargo per year. Today, it serves commercial cargo flights from Ecuador, the Netherlands, Belgium and Southeast Asia. In the future, it is planned to increase the technical landings of aircraft traveling from China to Europe.
An important project and reconstruction of Balkhash airport. In the future, this will increase its capacity by 30% and improve air links with other regions.
The development of logistics is impossible without high-quality roads. This year, 1,032 km have been repaired in the Karaganda region.
One of the major projects was the reconstruction of the Karaganda – Balkhash highway, where work on laying the top layer of asphalt concrete has been completed and the construction of the highway is underway.
The repair of 115 km of the Karaganda–Karkaralinsk highway has been completed. Next year, work will continue on 85 km. Thus, the 200 km long road from Karaganda to Karkaralinsk will be completely repaired.
Reconstruction of the Karaganda–Zhezkazgan republican road is expected to begin in 2025.
