An agreement has been signed in Bishkek on the establishment of a civil protection mechanism for

On November 6, 2024, within the framework of the 11th summit of the Organization of Turkic States in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, an important Agreement was signed on the creation of a Civil Protection Mechanism for OTG, which will be a new step in strengthening cooperation between member states in the field of emergency response.
On behalf of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the document was signed by the Minister of Emergency Situations, Major General Genghis Arinov, as well as representatives of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkey. This agreement underlines the desire of the member countries of the OTG to join efforts in the field of security, protection of citizens and crisis response.
The creation of the Mechanism is aimed at enhancing the coordination of actions by Member States in the field of emergency prevention and response, as well as in the field of humanitarian assistance. The main objectives of the Mechanism are:
Prompt response to natural disasters, man-made accidents and other emergencies.
Saving the lives and property of victims of disasters, as well as restoring vital functions in crisis zones.
Humanitarian assistance, including food, medicines and basic necessities.
Monitoring and analysis of emergency situations to increase the preparedness of countries for possible crises.
Exchange of experience and knowledge in the field of civil protection, which will increase the level of professionalism in each state.
In addition, the agreement includes provisions for joint exercises and training programs for specialists, which will help improve the preparedness of emergency personnel and improve the effectiveness of emergency response.
The signing of the Agreement symbolizes a new stage in the integration of the OTG countries, focused on strengthening mutual support and solidarity in the field of civil protection. The Civil Protection Mechanism of OTG will become an important tool for improving security and sustainability in Central Asia and other regions. Thanks to the creation of a coordinated system of assistance and interaction, the OTG countries will be able to respond faster and more effectively to any threats, helping each other in dealing with the consequences of natural and man-made disasters.
This step also confirms the common commitment of the OTG member States to the principles of mutual assistance and collective security, which makes them more resilient and ready to respond quickly in the face of global challenges.
