Representatives of civil society, non-governmental organizations, as well as public councils of the city and the region took part in the dialogue platform. During the seminar, the participants exchanged views on the further development of the sphere of civil society and discussed the pressing problems existing in the field.
Deputy Akim of the region Abai Zhasulan Sarsebayev noted the special importance of the regularity of such meetings.
"It is gratifying that we are meeting in this format. We have worked together with almost every one of you many times. I hope that today's seminar will help us solve current problems through joint constructive dialogue. Our citizens have always been distinguished by their active citizenship. I think that on today's platform, with your ideas and initiatives, we will develop new directions for joint work and exchange of views," the deputy akim of the region stressed.
Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Civil Society Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Eldar Saparov said that public councils are acquiring new functions and expanding their powers.
"The main task of public councils is to listen to the opinion of the population and not only voice it, but also offer possible solutions to problems. As you know, there is a law on public control in the country. This is another function assigned to public councils. I would like to note that the work with the public in the Abai region has been set at a good level," Eldar Saparov said.
The head of the Department of Internal Policy of the region, Abai Aidar Sadyrbayev, stressed that members of public councils – both in the region and in cities and districts – perform an important function on the path of formation and strengthening of civil society.
"In addition to the social burden that each member of the public council carries with honor, there are other important areas that I would like to focus on: issues of gender equality, interethnic and interfaith harmony, education of the younger generation. All this lies in the concept of the development of civil society. We face large-scale tasks. A lot has already been done, but more needs to be done. I think that the Abai region will prove itself in this and will be in the forefront, since the first active NGOs started working in our region, the first social movements were also formed here," concluded Aidar Sadyrbayev.
In addition, during the seminar, letters of thanks were awarded to representatives of public councils who distinguished themselves by putting forward the most productive ideas and creative projects.
