Two projects in the field of railway engineering will be launched in Kazakhstan by the end of the year. The enterprises will produce brake pads (Astana) and springs for railway trains (Kostanay). The total cost of the projects is 2.9 billion tenge. Their launch will create 96 jobs. This was announced by the Directorate of monitoring and analysis of the implementation of QazIndustry projects.
About 80% of the products of the new enterprises will be exported, the rest will be used for domestic needs of the country. When reaching the design capacity of two projects, the volume of products produced, according to forecasts, may reach 4.6 billion tenge.
"In total, the investment portfolio of railway engineering includes 13 projects worth 218 billion tenge. Their implementation implies the creation of more than three thousand jobs," the directorate said in a statement.
Six projects worth about 129 billion tenge and providing about one thousand jobs are under implementation. Thus, it is planned to produce passenger cars, gondola cars, wheel-banding products, gears, tanks and so on. Most of the products will be directed to the domestic market. Most of the projects are localized in the Pavlodar region and the city of Astana.
As the directorate added, five more projects worth more than 85.7 billion tenge and with the creation of about 1.7 thousand jobs are being worked out in the future. Together with domestic and foreign investors, it is planned to launch the production of cast superstructure beams, side frames, railway wheelsets, spare parts for wagons, thermos wagons and other products.
In addition, to attract investments in the industry at the national and local levels, support is provided in the form of investment preferences, preferential credit conditions, and tax breaks within special economic zones.
