The 100th anniversary of the Kazakh writer Berdibek Sokpakbayev was celebrated in Paris and the book "Menin atym Kozha" was presented in French

A conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the famous Kazakh writer Berdibek Sokpakbayev, whose work has become an important part of Kazakh children's literature, was held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
As part of the event, a presentation of his famous book "Menin atym Kozha" ("My name is Leather"), translated into French, took place.
The conference was attended by UNESCO Deputy Director General Ernesto Ottone, Chairman of the Committee for Archives, Documentation and Book Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Rustam Ali, Chairman of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan Mereke Kulkenov and representative of Kazakhstan in the international organization TURKSOY Bakytzhan Omar.
The participants expressed confidence that the translated book by Sokpakbayev will allow young French readers to get acquainted with the unique world of Kazakh culture, revealing to them the rich traditions and values of the people of Kazakhstan.
The inclusion of the 100th anniversary of Berdibek Sokpakbayev in the UNESCO calendar of commemorations reflects the importance of his contribution to world culture. A member of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan since 1952, Sokpakbayev was recognized as a classic of Kazakh children's literature during his lifetime, and his work continues to influence the younger generation.
The Kazakh side expressed gratitude to UNESCO for its support in organizing the event, and also noted the importance of cultural events promoting the Kazakh heritage in the international arena.
