The Asian Boxing Championship among Men and Women is taking place in Chiang Mai, the cultural capital of Thailand, from November 28 to December 12.
This continental championship was held in 13 weight categories for men and 12 for women.
13 boxers participated in these competitions as part of the national men's national team. Among them is our athlete Orazbek Asylkulov, who competed in the weight category up to 57 kg. For Orazbek, these competitions are the first official start of such a rank.
By the way, the athlete had 4 fights.
On December 1, in the first fight, Mohamad Zulhaina defeated the representative of Malaysia, prematurely ending the fight in the second round.
On December 5, after defeating a local fighter, he reached the semifinals.
On December 8, he received a ticket to the finals by winning the representative of Mongolia, Gantumur Lundaa.
On December 11, Asylkulov Orazbek lost to Uzbek boxer Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov in the final. The first round was in favor of our athlete. And in the other rounds, the opponent was stronger.
Thus, Orazbek won the silver medal of the Asian Championship. Congratulations to the athlete, coaches and all Akmola residents, boxing fans with this award!
