Emergency response exercises were held in Pavlodar at the railway station. The main purpose of the event was to work out the interaction of officials and personnel in extinguishing a fire associated with the ignition of flammable liquids. The exercise scenario involved filling gasoline from a railway tank with subsequent ignition. To prevent the spread of the fire, the burning tank was quickly uncoupled from other wagons. Two GPS-600 fire trucks were sent to extinguish the fire. A fire train was also brought to the place of the conditional emergency. Four KURS-8 barrels were used to protect the passenger train. As part of the exercise, 58 people were conditionally evacuated from the station building. In total, 48 emergency personnel and 13 pieces of equipment took part in the event.
Such trainings are conducted regularly to increase the level of readiness of services for prompt response to possible emergencies, ensure the safety of citizens and minimize the consequences of emergencies.
