Today, on December 12, Akim of Mangystau region Nurdaulet Kilybai held an extended meeting with residents of Aktau city. Over 600 people participated in the work of the dialogue platform, and issues of concern to the population were raised.
First of all, Aktau Mayor Abilkair Baypakov reviewed the indicators of socio-economic development of the city for the first 10 months of 2024 and reported on the work done.
According to Abilkair Baypakov, five major projects are being implemented in the city to solve the problem of water shortage. In particular, there are projects to double the capacity of the Caspian desalination plant, build new desalination plants at the expense of private investors, and produce water by reverse osmosis on the territory of MAEK.
As part of the infrastructure development, 11.4 kilometers of heating networks of MAEK LLP have been updated this year. By 2026, another 44 kilometers of communication will be covered in stages. Also, since October, 905 meters of sewer and water pipes have been laid in the 16th microdistrict. Landscaping works are continuing in the 15th microdistrict, and roads and utility networks are being built in the 35th district.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 50 fairs have been held near the regional mosque in order to support entrepreneurship and offer agricultural products at affordable prices. In the summer, 68 retail outlets were organized to sell products to local producers without intermediaries.
This year, Aktau was visited by more than 300 thousand tourists, which is 7% more than last year. In order to develop the tourism sector in the "4" A microdistrict, the territory on the seashore will be landscaped, pedestrian paths, sun loungers, street lighting and art objects will be installed. In addition, Aktau has accepted the status of the "Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" from the city of Anau (Turkmenistan) and is conducting organizational preparations for a number of cultural events starting in March 2025.
It is planned to implement 8 investment projects in Aktau in 2024. These include an aerated concrete production plant, an ammonium sulfate production plant, the construction of the Abai National School, a wholesale distribution center, a multifunctional production base and the construction of residential complexes. At the moment, 7 projects have been implemented. The remaining project will be completed by the end of the year. In the next three years, 21 new investment projects will be implemented, which will increase the economic potential of the region.
During the meeting, local residents raised many topical issues such as drinking water, the heating system, the stability of food prices, road signs, housing, intra-district roads, problems of shareholders. Proposals for the development of tourism, culture and sports were also announced.
The governor of the region listened to the appeals of residents and instructed the responsible leaders to find a solution to the issues within the framework of the law.
After the meeting, Nurdaulet Kilybai began receiving registered residents of the city on personal issues.
