The international forum under this name was held in Almaty.
The purpose of the event, organized by the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is to identify priority areas of scientific and technological development of Kazakhstan for the period 2027-2030, as well as to present the results of foresight research conducted by the Academy.
The forum was attended by Vice Minister of Agriculture Baglan Bekbauov, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a delegation of the Russian Academy of Sciences, leading scientists of South Korea, academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, heads of universities, research institutes, large Kazakhstani and international technological organizations, business representatives.
Key areas were considered, including information and space technologies, biomedicine and healthcare, ecology and sustainable development, etc.
President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akhylbek Kurishbayev stressed the importance of foresight research as a strategic tool for determining priority areas for the development of science and technology.
"We conducted 30 foresight sessions and more than 1100 interviews, which allowed us to formulate over 200 promising scientific tasks," he stressed, adding that special attention was paid to the creation of regional foresight centers, the first of which was opened on the basis of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University.
Seven more such centers will be opened next year.
Vice Minister of Agriculture Baghlan Bekbauov noted the key role of agricultural science in the development of agriculture, stressing the need for close cooperation between science and production. He spoke about the reforms in the scientific and educational sphere, the implementation of program-targeted financing and comprehensive measures for the development of breeding and seed production, expressing confidence in the fruitfulness of the joint work of the forum participants.
Within the framework of the forum, memorandums of cooperation were signed with the Korean Institute of Scientific and Technical Information, as well as with the Russian Academy of Sciences on cooperation in the areas of IT, agriculture, MMC and medicine, etc.
The Forum has become an important platform for the exchange of ideas, the formation of strategies to increase the competitiveness of domestic science and the discussion of current challenges of the modern technological era.
