The national team of Kazakhstan showed 100% result at the IJSO International Science Olympiad

The XXI International Science Olympiad among IJSO Juniors has ended in Bucharest. More than 360 students from 60 countries took part in this prestigious educational competition. The participants demonstrated their knowledge of physics, chemistry and biology.

The national team of Kazakhstan included six students. According to the results of the competition, our students demonstrated 100% results, winning six medals:

Ayzere Zheniskhanova is a student of the 10th grade of the NISH KHBN. Ust-Kamenogorsk;
Adil Zhienbayev is a student of the 10th grade of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences in Almaty;
Anastasia Ponomareva is a student of the 9th grade of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences in Astana;
Abdijan Ibraimov is a student of the 9th grade of the NURORDA Lyceum school in Astana;
Munar Sagimbai is a 10th grade student of the Republican School of Physics and Mathematics in Almaty;
Alikhan Iskender is a student of the 9th grade of the regional boarding lyceum for gifted children "Bilim-innovation" of the Aktobe region.
Team leaders:
• Samat Muratbekuly Maksutov – PhD, Associate Professor at SDU;
• Aidos Bekzatuly Sarsenbai is a student of the Caspian University of Technology and Engineering named after Sh. Yesenov, winner of international and national Olympiads;
• Muhammedali Ganiuly is an SDU student, winner of international and national Olympiads.
For reference: IJSO is an international scientific competition for schoolchildren under the age of 15, held since 2004. In 2023, all six participants of the Kazakh team won prizes at the Bangkok Olympics. This year, the students passed two-week training camps in Astana and adequately defended the honor of the country.
