Kassym-Jomart Tokayev got acquainted with the Table Tennis Center, which was built at the expense of the Zhetisu-Koldau public foundation.
The building, equipped with modern equipment and meeting international standards, houses a children's and youth sports school for board games and sports tourism.
According to Director Merey Suyunov, along with tennis, more than 600 students are engaged in togyzkumalak, checkers, chess, arm wrestling and sports tourism sections. Among them are 33 candidates for the Master of sports and 41 athletes of the first category.
The President was told about the development of sports infrastructure in the region. In particular, sports complexes have been built in the village of Lepsy in the Alakolsky district and the city of Tekeli, as well as sports complexes in Panfilovsky and Sarkan districts. Major repairs of the Central Stadium in Taldykorgan are underway. The construction of modular complexes for the development of mass sports has begun in small villages.
