On behalf of the Head of State, an information system for forecasting and modeling floods Tasqyn is being developed in Kazakhstan. The system will allow you to prevent emergencies and make forecasts for making strategic decisions.
The information system is being developed by the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry together with the Ministries of Ecology and Natural Resources, Emergency Situations, as well as the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation.
Today, a methodology for forecasting and modeling floods has been developed and approved. According to the methodology, the authorized bodies enter data such as the water level in reservoirs, the volume of wastewater disposal and hydrometeorological forecasts into the information system. Based on the collected data, the system simulates possible flood scenarios.
The Tasqyn information system is scheduled to be launched by the end of this year.
"The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation regulates the accounting of the operational and forecast water balance for the operational distribution of water, analysis and adjustment of water use regimes of reservoirs and water management systems. It should be noted that forecasting water consumption is important for taking urgent measures to regulate water discharge from hydraulic structures and reduce environmental stress in adverse hydrometeorological conditions," said Aslan Abdraimov, Vice Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation.
