The ceremony of awarding the winners of the "Zhaksy Adam–2024" award, organized by the TV channel "Zhibek Zholy", took place in Astana at the Palace of Peace and Accord. The award recognizes the merits of citizens who have made a significant contribution to the development of the country and have shown heroism. Among the winners are rescuers, doctors, teachers and other specialists.
One of the laureates was Ayat Seraliev, head of the Department of Emergency Situations of the Astrakhan district of the Emergency Department of the Akmola region. The Civil Protection Major was awarded for his work during the spring floods of 2024. The village of Stary Koluton in the Astrakhan region turned out to be isolated, and Seraliev personally led the evacuation operation from the flooded areas. He took out 32 people and animals, preventing possible casualties.
Vice Minister of Emergency Situations Kegen Tursynbayev noted: "In the conditions of unprecedented floods, which the country has not seen for 80 years, Kazakhstanis rallied and threw all their forces into the fight against the elements. Our rescuers were on the front line, including Ayat Seraliev."
Ayat Seraliev hails from the Sandyktau district of the Akmola region. He has been working in the civil protection system since 2013, starting as the head of the guard and gradually reaching a leadership position. Seraliev participated in emergency response in various districts of the region, including rescuing people from fires and winter storms.
"My job is a responsibility to people. Every day brings new challenges, and I am proud that I can help in difficult moments," said the Major of Civil Protection.
The ceremony also attracted the attention of government officials and cultural representatives who supported the award winners.
