A monument to Shakarim Kudaiberdiyev was unveiled in the Abai region

The solemn opening of the monument to Shakarim Kudaiberdiyev, an outstanding poet, thinker, historian, translator and composer, the continuer of the traditions of the great Abai, took place in the Abai region. The event was attended by Akim of the region Nurlan Urankhaev, chairman of the maslikhat Shalkar Baibekov, deputies, scientists, abaiologists, public figures and residents of the region.
The height of the monument, including the pedestal, is 7.7 meters. The sculptural composition is made of bronze, and the pedestal is made of solid carved granite. The author of the sculpture is the famous artist Nurbol Kaliyev, who created the image of Shakarim, reflecting the depth of his genius. In the hands of the great poet is a book and a tasbeeh, symbolizing his spiritual and intellectual heritage. The monument was erected at the intersection of Shakarim Avenue and Kabanbai Batyr Street.
President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulatory letter in honor of the opening of the monument. Akim of the region Nurlan Urankhayev read out the text of the congratulation during the solemn ceremony.
Shakarim Kudaiberdiyev's literary and philosophical heritage occupies a special place in the history of Kazakh culture. He was not only a poet, but also a philosopher whose writings cover deep issues of humanism, history and enlightenment. Shakarim created works in various genres, including poetry, prose and treatises. Shakarim's work formed a realistic tradition in Kazakh literature, continuing Abai's ideas. His legacy is of great importance not only for the Kazakh people, but also for the entire Turkic and Eastern cultures.
It is symbolic that the opening ceremony of the monument took place on the eve of Independence Day, because Shakarim's spiritual heritage echoes the theme of freedom and independence.
