An extraordinary twenty-third session of the maslikhat of the Abai region was held. During the session, by the decision of the deputies of the Maslikhat, a new chairman was elected. It was Baybekov Shalkar Zamanbekovich.
The head of the region, Nurlan Urankhayev, congratulated the new chairman, wishing him success in his work and stressing the importance of constructive interaction between the maslikhat and the executive branch for the further development of the region. New perspectives aimed at solving the urgent problems of the region were assigned.
The former chairman of the maslikhat of the region, Abai Kuanysh Suleimenov, resigned his powers ahead of schedule. During the session, the governor of the region presented him with a Certificate of Honor on behalf of the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan for his active work and noted his contribution to the development of the region. The deputies also expressed their gratitude to Kuanysh Suleimenov.
During the session, issues on the regional budget for 2025-2027, on the approval of the Action Plan for the implementation of the Concept of the development of ecological culture "Taza Kazakhstan" in the Abai region for 2024-2029, etc. were considered.
